AT EBBE: Artist in Residence – Anna Pehrsson

Date

29 April 2026
Expired!

For a few days, the Konsthall hosts an artist in residence: the artist Anna Pehrsson. On 29 April, we welcome you to an afternoon and evening where Anna invites the audience to experience her work in a live performance.

From 26–30 April, Anna Pehrsson enters into dialogue with Axel Ebbes Konsthall through her long-standing research exploring the meeting points between nature and the poetic, between the mountain and human movement, between the enduring and the ephemeral. During these days, a new work will also be created directly within the exhibition SCULPTURA – That Makes Your Mind Spin.

On Wednesday 29 April, 16:00–20:00, we welcome you to an afternoon and evening where Anna invites the audience to experience her work in a live performance.

Anna Pehrsson (b. Boliden) is a dancer, choreographer, and artist working at the intersection of dance, choreography, and visual art. After an acclaimed career as a dancer with companies such as Cullberg, Corpus / The Royal Danish Theatre, and Alias Compagnie (CH), she made her debut as a choreographer in 2016. Since then, her practice has ranged from gallery spaces and public space to artistic research projects and large-scale commissioned choreographic works.

As a visual artist, she works in a transdisciplinary practice that includes writing, drawing, stone carving, metalwork, and video. She is an associate artist at Weld in Stockholm and holds a double MFA in choreography from SKH and fine art from Konstfack, as well as a post-master accreditation in Materialities from the Royal Institute of Art (KKH). Her work has been awarded, among others, the Östra Göinge Stone Scholarship (2024) and Uppsala Municipality’s studio grant (2025).

Artist’s Statement:
My work is based on an in-depth exploration of the conditions of movement from a geological and ecological perspective. I seek to articulate environments where bodies, objects, and matter converge and generate place. In the threshold between the ephemeral and the enduring, I explore textures, volumes, and vibrations through dance, writing, drawing, and stone carving to generate new worlds of imagination.

Where resistance meets attraction (push and pull), movement expands as transformation—its temporal logic intact—into an energy-driven mass. Through this process, space opens toward a poetics of coexistence: a different elsewhere.
