About Axel Ebbes Art Hall

Since 1935, one of Trelleborg’s most iconic buildings has stood beside the city park – the functionalist masterpiece Axel Ebbes Art Hall. The building is dedicated to the multifaceted visual artist, sculptor, printmaker, illustrator, and author Axel Ebbe.

The hall showcases monumental sculptures, refined graphic works, and poetry, all donated by Axel and his wife Lillemor Ebbe to the City of Trelleborg.

Axel Ebbes Art Hall is currently closed for renovation and expansion but will reopen in autumn 2025 with a new permanent exhibition about Axel Ebbe, an extension for temporary exhibitions, a studio for educational activities, and a small café.
