Welcome to our general store and schoolroom, two authentic environments set up at Culture Magazine. Here, the students get to experience attending school and making purchases from the merchant.
How did they address the teacher back then? How did they find information before computers existed and what did they write on and with? And how did they go about shopping, weighing, measuring and packaging? What items were available for purchase?
The class works in two groups. One group attends school and the other visits a general store. After 30 minutes, they switch places. If you want to prepare for the visit, there is downloadable work material. See link below.
Note: There is no elevator! Please be aware that the Culture Magazine does not have an elevator to the second floor, where both the general store and schoolroom are located. The program can also be arranged at Trelleborgen Museum.
