Join us on an exciting journey through the folklore of Trelleborg. Together, we will explore the oldest parts of Trelleborg and listen to the guide as they share stories about old houses, human destinies, and legends from the past. The tour starts and ends at Trelleborgen.
Right next to the site where a ring fortress stood during the Viking Age, a medieval town was established in the 13th century, complete with a church, monastery, and marketplace. The medieval town, which left its marks in the ground and in today's road network, remained Trelleborg's center until the late 19th century when the city's center shifted eastward.
Join us in the city and discover these traces. We will make stops at various locations and discuss historical events, witchcraft, superstition, and remarkable individuals. During the tour, you will hear stories ranging from when Trelleborg lost its city rights and became a village to the legend of the dreaded basterännesoe (a local mythological creature).
