Traditional folk crafts from around 1750-1850 are showcased from the collections. It includes carving, turning, painting, embroidery and weaving. We primarily focus on wool embroidery and woodcarving.
What materials were available and where did people get patterns and models for their creations? How did they learn to make these objects and where did they source the materials?
We discuss certain symbols and patterns that occur in large parts of the world and emphasize the importance of being able to create things oneself.
